Discover New Pleasure with G-Spot Masturbation

It’s no secret: many vulva owners find it difficult to orgasm via penetration alone. And this could be for a variety of reasons…

Perhaps their sex toy or partner is not hitting the right spot, maybe they prefer clitoral stimulation, or it could just be a mental block holding them back.

With that, here are a few questions:

  • Do you believe that the G-spot is a mythical erogenous zone?
  • Have you had trouble finding the G-spot or experiencing arousal from it?
  • Do you identify as someone who only enjoys external stimulation?
  • Do you find it difficult to orgasm with internal stimulation (alone)?
  • Have you simply not tried to stimulate the G-spot?

Allow us to take you through our internal stimulation guide, kind of like a G-spot tutorial, shall we say.

All You Need to Know About G-Spot Masturbation

G-spot stimulation isn’t rocket science—but it is something one would need to learn about in order to experience it in all of its glory.

There’s no shame in being unfamiliar with the G-spot though. In fact, we commend you for being curious and open-minded. Sexuality is indeed something to be explored and enjoyed.

And so, let’s dive in with the basics first…

A Definition: G-Spot Meaning, Anatomy & History

The G-spot is short for the “Gräfenberg spot”, and it was discovered by German doctor, Ernst Gränfenberg, in 1950.

Gränfenberg described the G-spot as:

An erotic zone located on the anterior wall of the vagina along the course of the urethra that would swell during sexual stimulation."

But it wasn’t just Gränfenberg who made a name for themselves talking about the G-spot. Beverly Whipple, sexologist, used Gränfenberg’s study to compliment her own work on women’s sexuality.

During one of her mid-80’s research projects—one that involved finding out why women complained of leaking fluid—she “accidentally” found the G-spot.

She noticed that doing a “come hither” ’motion along the inside of the vagina resulted in pleasure/orgasm. And that the leakage that women complained of was not urine, but actually, fluid that is secreted when the G-spot is stimulated.

She believed that, by stimulating this region, one could orgasm more frequently during penetration.

So, while all of the above is important, there’s no good in knowing the history of the G-spot if one cannot locate it!

So, where exactly is the G-spot? The G-spot is located about two-three centimeters inside of the vagina, and can be reached by one’s fingers or by using a (G-spot) sex toy. More on that below!

What is the Difference Between the G-Spot and the Clitoris?

While the G-spot and the clitoris are considered two completely different pleasure zones that produce different kinds of orgasms, this is only half true. The G-spot is actually part of the clitoral network.

This means that when you are stimulating your G-spot, you’re also indirectly stimulating the clitoris.

"Generally, the clitoris is the powerhouse of the orgasm," says Ian Kerner, Ph.D. "But the clitoris is an internal structure that runs deep inside the pelvic area and crisscrosses with other regions," he adds.

Nevertheless, yes, there are different techniques and different areas that are to be stimulated, depending on if you’re going for clitoral stimulation or G-spot stimulation. Both kinds of stimulation can result in different kinds of orgasms.

Allow us to explain by starting with the clitoris…

Clitoris

The clitoris is the most sensitive erogenous zone in vulva owners, and serves only one purpose: pleasure!

For many however, it’s believed that the clitoris is merely a small nub that, when stimulated, creates arousal. This isn’t entirely true. The small nub is only what we can see.

The clitoris actually extends inside of the body, and is presented in an upside down wishbone shape.

You could think of it as the top of a wishbone that isn’t divided representing the clitoris, and the two extensions (each about 10 centimeters long) found internally, as the divided legs.

The clitoris as a whole is made up of complex erectile tissue and an abundance of nerve endings—10,280 nerve endings, to be exact.

This is interesting, as prior to 2022, it was believed that the clitoris had 8,000 nerve endings. Today, we’re looking at 20% more than that! And what does that mean for vulva owners? The more nerve endings, the more sexual pleasure!

To stimulate the clitoris, one could use their fingers, a sex toy or other items (a pillow, for example). Or, they could have their partner give them oral sex. Clitoral stimulation is external.

Now let’s look at the G-spot…

The G-spot is located on the front wall of the vagina, and is considered an area of increased sensitivity and erotic pleasure.

To feel the G-spot, you could insert one or more fingers into the vagina with your palm facing up. Once inserted, curl your fingers to make a “come hither” motion. When you feel a bumpy, slightly raised area, you’ve found the G-spot.

The G-spot, like the clitoris, tends to swell when someone is aroused. In other words, it’ll be easier to find the G-spot if one is more turned on because it will be larger in size.

What’s also interesting about the G-spot is that, when stimulated, you may feel as though you need to urinate. This is completely normal, as it is close to the urethra. If you are worried about this however, you could always pee beforehand.

On the other hand, stimulating the G-spot is one of the most common ways to make a vulva owners squirt. G-spot stimulation is internal.

Preparation & Planning: Vulva Owners Ask, “How to Find my G-Spot?”

While we have briefly given you the run-down on how to find your G-spot, sometimes it can be difficult. This is because the G-spot isn’t actually on any map of the human body.

To make things easier, we suggest doing some self-exploration to locate and stimulate your G-spot.

Consider it a form of self-love as you slowly uncover new parts of yourself and new erogenous zones that can induce bliss. Take your time and do what feels best for you.

Before you begin however, think about what method you’ll use. Will you use your finger(s)? Do you want to try a G-spot sex toy? G-spot sex toys are incredible as they’re curved in such a way that it targets the G-spot effortlessly.

Once that’s decided, you can start your journey towards internal stimulation.

To find your G-spot, we first recommend that you get comfortable. You could start stimulating other parts of your body that bring on arousal, such as the nipples, vulva, or clitoris.

Right before you put your finger(s) or toy inside of you, you may want to use some lube. Lubricant not only aids in wetness and adds to natural lubrication, but also creates an even more pleasurable experience.

Then, you could begin by massaging the entrance of the vagina. After this, go for it! Insert your finger(s) or toy!

A G-Spot Tutorial: A Pleasure Zone to Discover

Now that we’ve set the scene for some sensual self-exploration, let’s get into the pleasure zone…

A Step-by-Step G-Spot Masturbation Tutorial

Step one: insert your finger(s) or a G-spot sex toy into the vagina.

Step two: run it along the top wall of the vagina. If you’re using your finger or fingers, you should curl them so that your fingertips will be facing your belly.

Step three: be mindful of what you’re feeling until you find an area that feels different from the rest (more rigid, rougher, raised).

If you’re using a sex toy, you won’t need to use your fingers to find the G-spot. This is because this kind of pleasure product has been created with a curve that fits with your anatomy. It will automatically stimulate the G-spot when inserted and used.

Step four: Once you’ve found the G-spot with your finger(s) and you feel comfortable, stimulate it with the “come hither” motion.

If you’re using a sex toy, you can insert it fully, then turn on the vibrations when you’re ready.

And that’s it!

A tip? While stimulating your G-spot, have patience. For beginners, it’s simply an opportunity to enjoy different parts of the body that you have not yet explored.

If you feel as though you’re having difficulty in finding the G-spot, you may want to go higher towards the cervix, or lower towards the vaginal opening.

Enjoy the process and take your time until you find that blissful sweet spot.

Yes, all G-spot sex toys have the potential to shower you with delicious orgasms… but not all are the same.

The trick in finding a G-spot pleasure product is to think about your needs. Do you want something great for beginners? Something more advanced? A toy that’s fun for couples? Or perhaps something sensual for solo self-love?

You could consider other aspects too. What length and thickness do you think you’ll be comfortable with? What kind of vibration intensities and patterns might suit you? Is noise a factor? What about the type of material the sex toy is made of?

To get you started, we’ve handpicked our favorite G-spot sex toys for solo beginners, advanced solo players, and lovers. Indeed, there’s something for everyone.

For solo beginners

Looking to find a new pleasure spot? For beginners who are playing solo, we suggest:

Enigma uses sonic waves to tease the clitoris (in a suction-like action), and an arm that’s flexible and soft to put inside of the vagina for G-spot fun.

This sex toy from LELO is rechargeable, silent, and waterproof. It’s also a way to discover what your body is truly capable of in the realm of pleasure.

For lovers

Find that G(old)-spot with your lover and transform your sexual experience. Playing with a new toy with a partner can be a thrilling experience, as it adds a bit more spice into things. Do you dare?

Another goodie from LELO, we’re obsessed with the TIANI 3. Just like the Enigma, it offers dual stimulation (the G-spot and the clitoris). The result? A blended climax.

It’s also waterproof, made of soft body-safe silicone, and is firm yet flexible.

Givers of Pleasure: Fingering Her G-Spot

Now, let’s reverse roles. We’ve taken the approach of a vulva owner stimulating their own G-spot with our G-spot tutorial, but what about the people who are giving their partner G-spot stimulation?

This part of our article is dedicated to those who want to spoil their partner with all kinds of sexy sensations via their G-spot.

Firstly, if you’re a penis owner, think about how you’d have penetrative sex. You wouldn’t simply put your penis inside a vagina forcefully and leave it there, would you? The same applies for G-spot stimulation.

The essence of stimulating someone’s G-spot is to enter slowly and softly. Don’t thrust vigorously.

To get started, it might be easier for your partner to be on their back. Then, you can use one finger (or more, if your partner is comfortable with that) to enter the vagina.

You’ll want to insert your finger(s) in such a way that they’re pointed towards their belly button. But do allow some time for your partner to feel comfortable before you start massaging

How will you know when you’ve found the G-spot? “You’ll know you found it because it will feel like a bean-shaped bump and maybe more textured than the surrounding tissue,” says Emily Morse, host of the podcast, Sex with Emily.

Once you’ve found this magical area, softly massage it with the pads of your fingers. Then, you can curl your finger(s) and perform the “come hither” motion, at a speed and pressure that they prefer.

You can experiment with different speeds and pressure but stroking it with a rhythmic motion is always a good idea.

Tip: be sure to ask your partner what they like.

6 Tips for Fingering Her G-Spot

For good measure, we’ve compiled a list of six tips from various sex experts so that fingering her G-spot is easy and pleasurable.

Sexologist, Marla Renee Stewart, says:

“Consistency and pressure tend to be good keys to sexual success.”

  • “The G-spot can be anywhere between ten o’clock and two o’clock.”
  • Engaging in foreplay beforehand is encouraged. This will help the G-spot to become swollen, making it easier to find, and it can aid in natural lubrication.
  • Adding in a sex toy could be a game changer. You could use it to stimulate their clitoris, or you could use it as opposed to your fingers to stimulate the G-spot.

Sex educator, Kenneth Play, says:

  • Facilitating an environment of trust and attention to sensation is essential. This can mean creating an organized, calming bedroom space for play, being focused and present with your lover, or even coaching them to focus on the sensations they’re feeling.”

Emily Morse, owner of a sex podcast, advises:

  • If you’re fingering your partner’s G-spot, it could be extra arousing to place your free hand on their belly, just above their pubic hair, with a bit of pressure. This can help stimulate G-spot even more.

Sex Positions to Stimulate the G-Spot

And last but not least, if you decide to have penis-in-vagina penetrative sex as a means to stimulate the G-spot, the best sex positions to do so would be those with a rear entry.

An excellent example is doggy style. For this sex position, the vulva owner will be on all fours with their back slightly arched. The giver of penetration can then lift their partner’s hips and thrust in a downward motion.

By doing this, one’s penis can rub the front wall of the vagina more easily, resulting in glorious internal stimulation.
